State Legislative Issues Committee Where Can I Find More Information?

Looking for more information about the issues or your legislators?  Check out the websites below:

For Missouri State Coverage

www.moga.state.mo.us :  If you want to know what’s happening in the Missouri State Legislature, look no further.  This site provides a searchable database with the text of pending legislation, bill status and history, pages for members of the Legislature, a member contact list, pages for committees of the Legislature, the full text of the State constitution, and the full text of statutes and laws.

www.house.state.mo.us/jointsearch.asp :  Similar to the previous site, this website will permit you to search its database for both chambers by bill number, word/phrase, or bill sponsor.

For National Coverage

www.rollcall.com Known as “the newspaper to Capitol Hill since 1955,” this paper is a resource to those in Washington D.C. and across the country that need to know what Congressional members are thinking, what actions are underway in the hallways and by-ways of our nation’s capitol, and who’s who on Capitol Hill.  The website provides opinion pieces from Members of Congress, links to Senate and House schedules, and breaking legislative news.

www.cq.com :  Since 1945, the Congressional Quarterly has provided news coverage of Capitol Hill.  This website features information on key votes by Presidential candidates, updates on health policy legislation, and what’s new in pending legislation.

http://thomas.loc.gov :  The THOMAS World Wide Web system was brought online in January 1995, with the 104th Congress.  As a service of the Library of Congress, this website provides legislative data searchable by bill number or word/phrase, as well as vote information, committee reports, and committee rosters.  Historical documents are also available via the website and links are provided to the executive and judicial branches of government.

www.visi.com/juan/congress/ : As a database of Congressional contact information for the 108th Congress, biographical information, email addresses, phone numbers, and ground mail addresses are available at this website for all Members of Congress.

www.uscongress.com This site provides links to a complete listing of Members of both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. In addition, links are provided to each Representative's Home Page.   You may also access information on floor proceedings, roll call votes, Congressional records, Congressional calendar, and Federal Register notices.
