Turtle Cake


"A very rich and delicious dessert!"

Yield: 15 servings

1 2-layer package German chocolate cake mix
1 14-ounce package caramels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup margarine, melted
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
Confectioner's sugar

• Prepare the cake mix using the package directions.
• Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
• Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
• Pour over the baked layer.
• Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips.
• Pour the remaining cake batter over the top.
• Bake for 25 minutes or until the cake tests done. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
• Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
