Strong Women & Families Health & Resource Fair

The Junior League of St. Louis partners with our community partners to present the Strong Women & Families Health & Resource Fair. This event connects St. Louis families, across the region with on-site resources and information on health care, finance, education, employment, housing, and legal services.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to request legal advice, learn wellness and nutrition tips, apply for housing assistance, meet with various organizations providing resources in their community and participate in arts and crafts and other fun family activities.

We are proud to be partnering with Girls, Inc for 2024 Strong Women Events.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE EVENT?
The Strong Women & Families Health and Resource Fair is Junior League of St. Louis’ largest community impact event each year. Since 2010, the event has grown to serve more than 600 attendees annually. A key part of Junior League of St. Louis’ mission is improving the lives of women and children in our community. The Strong Women & Families Health & Resource Fair helps further that mission by providing on-site services at the event, not just a flyer and phone number.
“The cornerstone of the Junior League of St. Louis’ community impact programs is our annual Strong Women & Families Health & Resource Fair, which brings the best St. Louis services and community resources to our neighbors,” “The JLSL offers a one-stop-shop resource fair to make all services and resources accessible that day.”  We strive to tackle issues of poverty, food access and community development.

JLSL partners with more than 50 vendors, including Shriner’s Hospital, Connections to Success, Books for Kids STL, Grace Hill Head Start, Missouri Botanical Garden, and UMSL College of Optometry. In addition to receiving on-site services, attendees will be entered for giveaways, enjoy music, and participate in family friendly activities.

We also present the Kids in the Kitchen program, aimed to teach young children healthy eating and exercise.  Kids in the Kitchen is an international Junior League event grounded in the belief that children and families empowered with the knowledge of how to feed and exercise their bodies will be less likely to become obese, and subsequently suffer associated health risks. Since its inception in 2006, Kids in the Kitchen has evolved to target these issues by providing young children with tips for healthy snacks and fun, easy exercise.
