The 2015 Drue Lane Webster Volunteer Service Award Recipient Sally Lefler with prior recipients.

For over thirty years, the Drue Lane Webster Volunteer Service Award Committee has been a thriving and inspiring extension of the Junior League of St. Louis.

Drue Lane Webster was a JLSL member who’s family, after her passing, wanted to honor her by making a monetary donation to JLSL.

The Drue Lane Webster Volunteer Service Award Committee was formed and a volunteer award was created.

The first award was announced at the 1985 Annual May Membership Meeting.

An Active or Sustaining member is eligible.  Sometimes, there are two awards.  The recipient is given a monetary amount, which is then contributed to her favorite St. Louis Community charity.

Nominations for this award are obtained from the membership of JLSL.

Since its inception, 53 Junior League of St. Louis members have been honored with the Drue Lane Webster Volunteer Service Award, which recognizes JLSL members who exemplify the spirit and purpose of the JLSL through commitment to voluntarism with their combined “hands-on” service and leadership roles.

As a result, 42 St. Louis Community organizations have received donations totaling $26,500 on behalf of the JLSL Drue Lane Webster Volunteer Service Award recipients.

Recipients are chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Are JLSL Active or Sustaining members
  • Exemplify the spirit and purpose of JLSL through commitment to voluntarism
  • Demonstrate a selfless, caring attitude
  • Show a balance and depth of service to JLSL, community and family activities
  • Combine “hands-on” service and leadership roles
  • Are members who have not received community awards
